Two people I recently coached from two different start-ups made the same error in their PowerPoint presentations, so, if you show PPTs in your online client meetings or webinars, I thought I would share this tip with you.
Do you know how to avoid people seeing all your slides running down the left side of the one big slide you are showing? If yes, great; read no further. If not, you are creating a communication problem for yourself. You are talking about one slide but your viewers’ eyes are checking out the next slides, which means they are not giving full attention to what you are saying. To solve that problem, just do the following:
BEFORE You Open Zoom
1.Open your PPT presentation on your Desktop
2. In the Menu bar at top, click Slide Show
3. Then, under that, click Set Up Slide Show and change the default Presented by a Speaker (full screen) to Browsed by an Individual (window).
4. Click OK to save. The box will close.
5. On the tool bar to the left, Click Start the Slide Show from Beginning. Now, only the beginning slide will fill the screen.
6. Leave your open PPT just like that.
Then, you can open Zoom
When you are ready to Share Screen, you will just select the open PPT screen and it won’t cover your controls or show the side screens.
Voila!
Successful Presenting!
