Many of you are small biz entrepreneurs, so effective marketing is critical to your success. With that in mind, I am happy to “treat” you this Halloween with this business building tip from guest blogger Paulette Ensign, founder of www.TipsProducts.com
Build Your Business by Being Pleasantly Persistent
Throughout the years, many solopreneurs have reported they prefer to use their how-to content as giveaways and for marketing more than looking at that content as direct revenue streams. That makes complete sense as long as you are strategic about it. Strategic means you’ve got a high-priced product or service you want to market, and creating a tips booklet or using your tips in other ways to market that higher priced product or service is a wonderful idea for doing that. Educating your client, customer, or patient often keeps them coming back for more of what you offer.
An example of that is when a non-profit organization developed a cleaning process for schools. The cleaning process saved time and money for janitorial crews and their school districts. The non-profit decided a great way to market their process was to give away printed copies of a tips booklet that shared specific how-to tips that educated the janitorial staff in most appealing ways and led to the school district purchasing the more costly cleaning process. The school district saved money, the janitorial staff saved time and aggravation, and the non-profit sold their system to many school districts.
What A Tip a Week Can Do
Following that example, imagine if you dripped one of your how-to tips by email each week to your clients, prospects, colleagues, and influencers in your field. Ideally you would offer these tips at no cost to those who subscribed to your email list. Of course it’s necessary to include an unsubscribe link in those emails so anyone you sent the tip to could opt out of your mailing at any point if they chose to for any reason.
If you already send out an ezine, you could alternate a full article with a tip, or these tips could be your primary way of staying in front of your people. Each time they receive your tip, whether as text, audio, a video clip or a combination of formats, you are reminding people you are still in business, available to serve them in the ways they need. It could be a first-time buyer among the prospects and influencers, or another project from a former client who simply lost track of you and is thrilled to hear from you.
Benefits of One Tip a Week
Dripping one tip a week puts you into the category of being pleasantly persistent. And one tip a week can provide the results you want for in your business:
- Increase in sales conversions
- Increase in client retention
- Increase in past client reactivation
- Increase in referrals
You can do this on your own with any of the popular services frequently used for sending ezines, you can have your Virtual or in-person Assistant do this for you to become pleasantly persistent, (or, you can reach out to Paulette if you have any challenge in creating the actual tips).
Extend your reach and your bottom line by becoming pleasantly persistent.
Thank you, Paulette, and Happy Halloween, everyone!
