- What if you could be sure your listeners were totally engaged with your information?
- What would that do for your confidence?
- What would that mean for your business?
Listener’s Brains Love PEP
I have created a numeric system called PEP, for Presentation Engagement Power, to measure the likely impact your information will have on listeners. PEP is based on how our brains make decisions. It boils down to satisfying the logic, relevance, and closure needs of the left side of our brains with the visual and emotional cravings of the right side. Satisfying both sets of needs for a listener is candy for his brain. We all know our arguments need to pass the head/heart test, i.e., make sense and also appeal to emotions, but before PEP there was no way to measure how effectively we were doing that.
Now there is.
Like an EKG printout that checks for problems with the electrical activity of your heart, PEP provides a check for any problems with the “candy” appeal your information has to listeners.
What is Your PEP Profile?
You may not be aware of it, but you have a presentation engagement profile, one that can tell you how much brain candy you are delivering to a listener, i.e, how interesting, engaging, relevant, and exciting your information is. When you PEP test your presentation, you will discover the strength of your engagement power and how to improve it where needed. Use the PEP profile to ensure the right mix of brain candy for your listeners.
